Editing Index Entries if Select List Choices aren't visible/available

n a user case, they were attempting to edit an entry in HR Fiscal's Action field, but after removing the initial entry, the option to select a choice from the drop-down menu was grayed out/not available and users couldn't enter information manually due to the select list requirement.


Go to the file cabinet Dialogs tab, then to the result list dialog.  If you see more than one result list, then check them all.

 

 

Click on the “Index dialog” tab (that’s the obscured part), then on the “Action” field. In my example I’m clicking on “Status”.

 

 

In your situation, I expect that you will find the check box at the bottom (“The user can only use entries from the select list to set the field”) has been checked, but that in the list of select lists, there are none checked. You can either check the appropriate select list option or uncheck the box at the bottom (which will allow for open entries and probably not what you want).  OK/Save your way out and test.
